A heart-warming and heart-breaking film depicting the emotional impact of war.
This film is the heart-warming and heart-breaking story of a young 18-year-old who enters the Army determined to serve his country. Several of his young comrades take him under their wing, one even promising the young man's mom that he will protect him while in battle. But the battle proved to be too intense, with the young recruit experiencing the horrible emotional impact of war and, thereby leaving him emotionally scarred and beyond help. The end result was truly heart-breaking. Tye Sheridan could not have played his role as the young recruit any better. In fact, he played it almost too well. Be ready for a tough ending.
The movie called The Yellow Birds was not as good as I thought it would be. I love movies with suspense, and even though it did have suspense, it was strange. I would not recommend it.
