IDENTIFICATION OF NORTH AMERICAN BIRDS
BOOK SHOWS CONCISE INFORMATION ON EACH BIRD FROM PHOTOS TO SHORT DESCRIPTIONS / TOPICS ON HABITAT, NESTING, SONG/CALLING, TO THEIR PREFERRED MEAL. BOOK IS SUBSTANTIAL. AN ERROR FOUND IS THE DESCRIPTION OF CARDINAL. THIS BOOK DIPICTS ONLY ONE AND IT IS NOT CORRECT. NORTHERN CARDINAL IS RED WITH GREY ON WINGS, HEAD, AND TAIL. DEPICTION OF THE NORTHERN FEMALE IS CORRECT. THERE IS A VERMILLION CARDINAL, OF WHICH THE PICTURE IN THIS BOOK SHOWS ACTUAL COLORING, ALL BRIGHT RED. IT'S FEMALE IS WHITER COLOR OF APPLE FLESH WHITE WITH HUES OF YELLOW & LIME GREEN. ALSO, THIS BOOK'S DEPICTION OF THE ORCHARD ORIOLE IS DIFFERENT THAN THOSE IN OTHER BOOKS. THAT SAID, OF THE NORTHERN ORIOLE, I APPLAUD THE AUTHOR FOR THE BEGINNING INFORMATION ON THE NORTHERN ORIOLE REGARDING IT'S NAME BEING USED FOR SPORTS TEAMS. THERE IS NO BALTIMORE ORIOLE BIRD. IT'S JUST THE NAME OF SPORT TEAMS. I NOT ONLY BOUGHT THIS BOOK FOR MYSELF, BUT HAVE PURCHASED SEVERAL OTHERS AS GIFTS. MARLENE

Best Bird Book
Just what my husband was looking for....great value for the amount of information found in this book...beautiful pictures. I would recommend this purchase to anyone wanting to identify local birds.

A great, quick reference book with beautifully colored illustrations
This is a great, quick reference book with beautifully colored illustrations and the basics you need to know about each particular bird. This includes nesting habits, foods and territory. Highly recommend this book.

Great Book!

Great Bird Guide
I bought this for someone who just started putting out a bird feeder outside their kitchen window. I own a copy and find it’s a great reference to learn about the birds living in the area.
