Product Information

Based on Neil Simon's hit Broadway play, PLAZA SUITE is a collection of three comic episodes set in Suite 719 of New York City's famed Plaza Hotel, each starring comic legend Walter Matthau. In the first vignette, Matthau's wife (Maureen Stapleton) discovers--on their 23rd wedding anniversary--that he's been having an affair with his secretary. In the second story, Matthau plays a sleazy Hollywood producer who summons an old girlfriend (Barbara Harris) to his room for afternoon sex. In the last segment, Matthau and his wife (Lee Grant) deal with their daughter's wedding day jitters after she locks herself in the hotel bathroom. The trio of darkly comic stories bear Simon's trademark humor, sophistication, and wry insight into the complex nature of human relationships.

Memorable film
I remember seeing this film in the theatre. Watched it again when it came to television back in the 70's. I have not seen it since although it has been on T.C.M. many times. I finally got around to buying a copy and I really enjoyed viewing it. This film boasts a lot of great stars ( namely Walter Matthau), and a real good set of stories (3) written by Neil Simon. Pure entertainment at it's best. Fun for the whole family. I recommend this movie.

Next generation fan
I watched this video with my cousin who had never seen it. She's in her early 30"s. I have always loved this movie, really anything by Neil Simon. My cousin loved it though she thought it was slow in some parts, but she now a fan too. She has seen other movies by Neil Simon. The odd Couple is her fav.

This is one of the funniest movies ever!
This is a funny and great movie! The first segment is sad but it is also funny all the way through. Good clean hilarious fun!!

A true classic
A classic play that sacrifices nothing in the journey to the screen, Simon's Plaza Suite is a fantastic showcase for Walter Matthau! Both trenchant and hilarious, this 3-in-1 tale is top-tier.

Plaza Suite is the Perfect Closing of the 1960's
Plaza Suite is a typical movie of the late '60s early '70s era with real stage dynamic and captivating characters portraying much of life's realities and yet restrained so to maintain innocense.
