Walkabout -1971(Australian 'Madman entertainment' issue) The 2nd film directed by Nic Roeg(after 'Performance') is rightly regarded as a one of his great films & possibly his most popular & recognised by the general public..
There are are couple of different versions ..one in 'anamorphic widescreen' & the version I purchased that is 'widescreen' but for 'old style' TV sizes..
The reason I purchased this is it has a very interesting commentary by Roeg & lead actress Jenny Agutter.its also a slightly longer version compared to the 'UK issue' -much of this is taken up with the aboriginal character(David Gulpilil) hunting & killing animals-this is not exploitative in the context of the film but some viewers may find unpleasant (if this is likely I would advise purchasing the copy with miss Agutter swimming on the cover).. The Australian copy has the 3 characters on front with '30th anniversary release' printed at top.
The other extras are a couple of trailers & an appreciation of the film by Roger Ebert..mono sound ( English language, but without subtitles)..
