Michael Sheen (THE QUEEN, FROST/NIXON), in another of his seamless performances, plays legendary football manager Brian Clough during his disastrous and brief tenure as manager of Leeds UTD in the 1970s. Talented but abrasive, Clough alienates some of those around him, including his rival, Don Revie, his predecessor on Leeds UTDÆs bench. When Clough has the chance to coach Leeds, he takes on the difficult role of the manager of the countryÆs best soccer team. But outspoken Clough strongly disagrees with the aggressive soccer style the team has become famous for, while he has to struggle, quite unsuccessfully, to gain the trust and cooperation of his players. Also starring Timothy Spall, Jim Broadbent, and Colm Meaney, the film is based on the critically acclaimed book by David Peace and adapted for the screen by Peter Morgan (THE QUEEN, THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND).

    The Best Football Film Ever Made

    As it claims on the box - this is the best football film ever. It captures the magic that was Brian Clough - warts and all. He and Peter Taylor were the match made in heaven - what they achieved together is nothing short of miraculous. The film does not flinch or back off about certain moments that showed Brian to be human - as in with faults fully exposed - but that just draws you closer to the man's man that was Brian Clough. If there is anyone out there who has not seen The Damned United then I am jealous for what you will see and feel whilst watching the film of Brian Clough - The Very Best England Manager We Never Had.

    One of the great sport movies.

    Outstanding film. Michael Sheen does Brian Clough to a tee in a no-holds-barred but sympathetic and engaging performance. Other cast members, especially Timothy Spall, are equally memorable. If you love football. If you love great films, If you love Cloughie, Buy it.

    Amazing film

    My grandson has watched this on a daily basis since it arrived , he absolutely loves it . Must be the best purchase I have made in many a long time . Nothing bad to report under any circumstance , highly recommended .

    Must have if ur a Leeds fan

    Every Leeds fan should have this in their collection , it’s brilliant , it’s funny , as I’m also from Brighton and can’t stand Brighton but a life long fan of Leeds ,
