Worth viewing but not his best work
I like everything Ken Burns does but I believe this was his first documentary and it shows. To me it felt like an excellent college project. Perhaps that is because I am working on my own documentary. Still, after taking the Ken Burns Master Class I have a new appreciation for the overwhelming amount of time and preparation that goes into his documentaries. I highly recommend his master class.

Empire State Building Review
I enjoyed the tape although it included a lot of history of the time that I did not expect. However, it is good to remember that this magnificent building was built in 1929 during the great depression. So the history is valuable. It does cover the construction of the building and the many problems with designing and building such a massive building in the middle of New York City. I would purchase it again and consider it a great value.

Amazing history and very informative
This is the most interesting piece of film making that I have seen in many years. I am more impressed by the producer than I would have expected. This is well worth the price of the CD. Great buy and this IS a beautiful bridge. I never knew what a casson was until I saw this CD

The story of the Brooklyn Bridge.
It tells the story of the Brooklyn Bridge and the men who built it. The idea that the bridge still stands today is a true test of the enginering used for its time.

Brooklyn Bridge
Bought this for my family...we are from Brooklyn. Brother really enjoyed it as he is an engineer. It was nostalgic and I love anything that Ken Burns does.

A MUST-SEE FOR EVERYONE
This DVD was not only entertaining it was very informative. It boggled my mind what went into the construction of this bridge and I enjoyed the information about the architect/engineer and what he went through to realize his dream of completing the majestic Brooklyn Bridge. Everyone should see this DVD.

Building of th Brooklyn Bridge
I knew this video wld be a learning experience and I was not disappointed. It would be inspirational to kids thinking about being an engineer.
