    Item arrived pretty quick. Was new as described. Works great at removing solder. Good price. Well satisfied with purchase. Would buy from again. This my third one. It's unfortunate these solder suckers work great for about a year. And then get less dependable as time goes. Even if maintained. What really kills them if left on overnight by mistake.

    Brand new, shipped via DHL, I don't have a single complaint. Great deal. (For USA conversion, just open up the unit and replace the single 10ohm 1watt resistor with 2 300ohm 1 watt resistors, (There is a empty position for the second one.)

    Many improvements over the 808.

    I was initially disappointed to learn I could no longer get repair parts for my trusty Hakko 808. I also had concerns about ordering from Japan, but to save a $100, I went for it, and was glad I did. The FR-301 came much faster than I anticipated, and although I could not make use of my old 808.tips, the new desoldering tool is a breeze to use. The many improvements include on/off switch, easy temperature setting and easier tip changing. It even comes in a blue and yellow color theme in support of a free Ukraine.

    Well worth it!

    Maybe you think you don’t need one of these. That’s where I was with it for a long time. Then, I found myself doing some vintage stereo re-caps, so I finally bought one. As YouTuber AH Fixit says: “Game Changer “. It works incredibly well, and what is even more important is that you are much less likely to damage pads and traces, because it works quick. There are some caveats. Only one tip is included. It is a 1 mm opening and will work for most stuff, but I find myself also needing a 1.3 mm at times. Extra tips are pricey but they should last pretty long The included stand is basically useless, you’ll have to get something else. All that said, I’m sorry that I didn’t take the plunge a long time ago. Would have saved me an incredible amount of time. Also, it frees up one hand so you ...

    Very good product

    Works even better than expected. This is a 100 volt unit so I am using a variac to reduce my voltage. Surprisingly, around 100. volts, the pum seems a bit weak but when bump up to 105 volts,the pump is strong enough to pull the foil from the pcb. It is easy to use but it will take a bit of practice to optimize the settings for best results.

    Great Product

    Very good high quality desoldering tool. Was ordered on Friday and it arrived on Tuesday. .Only 4 days for FedEx from Japan to Arizona. Only factor to consider is the 100 VAC spec but that is not a problem as I can run it at 100 Volts. Don't know if 120 VAC would shorten the heating element life but I wouldn't take the chance. Wish Hakko would offer a tip assortment to add to the original purchase.

    Best tool you'll buy this year

    If you do any amount of desoldering you owe it to yourself to buy this tool. Don't waste your time and money on the cheaper chinese ones thinking you dont use it that much or that they will work just as well. THEY WON'T. I broke 3 of them before buying this Hakko and I am so very glad I did.. A quality tool made to be used. The best tool you'll buy this year.
