Very good product
I checked "no" for easy to set up, however that is probably more my fault than the modem/router. Someone more knowledgeable or experienced would probably have minimal to no problems. Since this was a refurb and was previously used by someone, be sure to reset the modem/router first thing before you try to set it up. I didn't and could not login to the modem/router with the username and password printed on the device because it must have been changed. I was surprised that the refurb didn't reset it. After reset, all was fine. Comcast provides a list of recommended modem/routers to buy if you do not want to rent one of theirs. This Netgear CAX30 was on that list. It is definitely an improvement over my previous 5 year old modem/router. Faster downloads, sharper images and videos, and greater range. I am glad I made the upgrade. Turn armor security off
I can only speak from my experiences. This device is awesome. Works good(now). The initial setup was very difficult. After talking to my internet provider and Netgear customer support, it got done. Perfect change
I waited to write this review to see if there really is a noticeable difference between the modem I did have which was a generic modem that was given by Mediacom, I really do have to say there is a sizable difference, its nearly night and day difference to be honest. The modem I was leasing from Mediacom with my two Eeros would constantly lag and I would loose major pockets of data all the time and the latency was also terrible which made gaming really insufferable. My kids and my wife all gave up on the Internet and just used their data or they used their hotspots for school. I have the 1g package from Mediacom which consists of 1000 mbps 8TB of data, we were using like 100 gigs per month on average before the the modem, were now using nearly 2 TB of data every month. I’ve had my Night Hawk for a few weeks a...
I’ve had my Night Hawk for a few weeks and I’ve noticed a huge improvement to my Wi-Fi speeds and connection. The set up was really easy— I was able to complete it within 15 minutes during a lunch break. My own device is worth the cost. Solid modem. Solid Speed.
It works extremely well, so far. It took a little while to set up through the app, but once I was able to figure this part out, I called my ISP and they took care of the rest. Good Modem, I would Suggest Getting
Everything went really good. Setup was easy, getting good speeds, modem page is very easy to understand. The only issue I had was one of my older laptops, I would say its well over 7 or 8 years old.. could not find the connection for wifi, no matter what I did or changed on the laptop, so I went out and got a USB wifi connection for it and everything is good.. but TV's, computers, Next, ARLO camera's etc.. found the network just fine. Worth every penny
I bought this to replace my outdated Motorola/Arris Surfboard and I am not disappointed at all. Setup through the Xfinity app is simple. Router setup through the Nighthawk app is fairly easy as well. Very Difficult Install
Didn't setup very easily. Spent over 2 hours on the phone with tech support updating and configuring it. Had to call tech support cause couldn't even get the wifi to connect on one computer. good value for money

Top of the line
Save yourself the headache and get this combo modem/router, especially if you have a 300mbps+ plan. I pay for 300mbps and on a wifi 6 compatible device I hit download speeds up to 400mbps when downloading a large game file. My previous modem and router which were both rated up to 600mbps were barely able to handle 100mbps. Absolutely worth the money.
