It should be required reading for all social work students and professionals in the profession of social work., This text is excellent for showing students that policy is a significant focus of practice and challenging students to think of policy as part of their own practice. I especially appreciate the way students are challenged to think of policy as something which occurs at all levels of the social welfare enterprise, from what occurs at staff meetings in an agency to what occurs at staff meetings in a legislator's office.
