Should have won Oscar
This was a movie that was realistically based on true story, This movie was made on a smaller budget but the solid performance of Andrew Garfield blew me away. Mel Gibson did a fabulous job with the accuracy in script, if anything it is actually underrated on report of what occurred on the Ridge as the modesty of Desmond Doss prevented recording actual number of lives saved.

Exciting, Loud, War Action That Is True To Life
This is a standout, WW2, war movie in every way. True story, selfless hero, and spectacular war action. It is as good as any and way better than most efforts in this genre. I recommend this one. It is truly exciting, loud, and inspiring.

An Inspirational War Movie
While in some ways it is a hard movie to watch (lots of graphic killing and injuries), this is not a typical war movie. It is a movie about relationships and staying true to oneself. The hero of the movie is truly a hero without firing a shot. His path was not an easy one, but how he managed to stay on his path is truly inspirational. The acting all around is top notch. And as a bonus, it is based on a true story. Highly recommend this movie!

Hacksaw Ridge...the best war movie ever!
My husband and I really enjoyed Hacksaw Ridge, the true story of Desmond Doss, a conscientious objector who won the Medal of Honor for saving many lives in battle. It is a great movie for Christians to watch, with very little bad language. I would caution parents, though, not to let children under the age of 12-13 watch it due to bloody violence.

The Best
This is the story of a real man. His is a story of a real hero from WWII, who with his belief in a higher power, was able to save the lives of count less human beings. He is the only conscientious objector to win the medal of honor. He was a simple man with high and great aspirations. The actors and acting were superb, they made the story real and believable. A real thumbs up!

Just short of feeling the blasts
As a soldier I could not find fault with this screen play or how it was represented. There were no ridiculous nuclear hand grenades, as each weapon right down to its actual range and effectiveness appears to have been researched accurately. The actors came together brilliantly to reflect a true tight combat team with all it's nuances, outlooks and quirks soldiers to this day still do. Overall this is and will be a new war classic that everyone should see, as an real gut wrenching truth about what runs through soldiers minds when under fire and how they see war.

Amazing and true!
Wonderful story of a humble man who stuck to his Christian values and was used by God to save lives and inspire even more lives. Great movie, well made. It was important to show the horrors of war as well as the heroism.

Great movie
Great movie based on real events with lots of realism and graphic images of what war was really like. Probably not for the squeamish but war is hell and shows a lot of realism of the pacific war theater.

Wow! What a movie. I don't think I would have believed it if it was just a movie someone made up. But it was true and because of that, it was very intense for me. How lucky were those men who were saved? What a story. What a soldier! God never left his side.
