With its focus on realism, "Project CARS" for the PlayStation 4 may be the closest thing to actually racing a car yourself. Featuring over 70 cars to drive plus 30 locations, this PS4 game is packed full of content. "Project CARS" for the PS4 brings realism to racing events with multiple unique features, such as in-game events spanning multiple days and players needing to qualify to earn the right to take part in a particular relay. In “Project CARS,” you customize each car to your exact preferences and specifications, with the ability to fine-tune each competition by setting the length as well as the AI difficulty within the game. One of the more interesting aspects of this PlayStation 4 game is its dynamic simulation of weather. This changing weather alters the way you play entirely. As is the case with real-life drivers, driving on wet surfaces makes for more thrilling and challenging races. The highlight of “Project CARS” may well be the deep career mode available to players. In this mode, you have full control over the creation of your player and how your career turns out. Once you craft a driver, you then select a starting motor vehicle, such as Le Mans Prototypes or European GT. Once you've decided where you wish to compete, it's time to sign a contract and start entering races. As you win, you start to receive intriguing offers from other teams as well as invitations and endorsements. All of this is meant to simulate the experiences that real-life racers go through. In total, there are 60 unique tracks included in the game, which consist of both point-to-point tracks and closed-circuit ones. As you learn the curves of a road, you find yourself achieving better times and possibly winning big. Each vehicle included in the game plays differently from the others, and you are able to customize them further with additional tuning. When playing “Project CARS” on PlayStation consoles, you may also want to check out the expansive multiplayer component. By going online, you choose from several different multiplayer modes. If you want to participate in weekend races against people from around the world, simply select a current match at your skill level. Create your own private or public match. These custom-created matches include any settings you want and involve standard races, warm-up sessions, or practices. If you set up a public or private match, invite your online friends to play against you. It's also possible to engage in time-based trial challenges where you attempt to beat the scores posted by other racers. During these trials, you use vehicle ghosts on the track, which provide you with visible feedback on how you're doing. Whether you enjoy participating in multiplayer or single-player races, there's a lot of content in this PS4 game. The graphics for “Project CARS” come in at a full HD 1080 pixels of resolution and a smooth 60 fps.

    Project Cars

    Project Cars is an excellent racing simulator that gives the player control over a myriad of variables. Its a simulator designed for a more mature player who is willing not only to invest a great amount of time experimenting with many game play variables but who is also willing to forgive one or two bugs in the programming along the way. I understand that the car roster was very carefully chosen but I would have liked an even more varied selection of cars beside the game's offering. Maybe my desire for different cars will be satisfied by DLC in the future. For now, Project Cars is THE simulator for devoted racing simulator enthusiasts. Not without fault, but very engaging nevertheless.

    Best racing sim for the PS4 currently available

    I have been involved in real racing as well as sim racing for quite some time (show of hands, who remembers Sports Car GT) and this sim is fantastic! Keep in mind I said 'sim'...this is not an arcade racer, and if that's what you're after I would stick with one of the many NFS games. Turn off all assists, grab a force feedback wheel and this thing drives like a real race car!

    Project Cars Review (FULL)

    This is an excellent game with a wide variety of cars and tracks the physics is good and the force feedback is great being immediately compatible with my G29 steering wheel and add on gear shifter. Graphics are good, although I would have liked more open road tracks. The only hiccup is that sometimes when running off, the car freezes and doesn't move and you have to restart the entire race. Also, the career mode does not work upon purchase until you open a PSN account and receive a special update which unlocks the career mode. Car tuning could be made a little simpler with a little reccomendations on how to from the display or sound instructions. I do like how you can adjust the A1 difficulty but I would have liked the game to have a rewind feature like the Code masters games. N.B. Opening ...

    Great game for the extencive tinkerer. The options are endless. Possably too many setting for most users. lots of set-up to each race.

    Decent racing simulator

    I liked the game overall, but it had fewer tracks and cars than Project CARS 2. And the announcer was more chatty than PC2. Does that make it bad? No. But it is a decent racing simulator, and that's all I expected. No more, no less.
