Synopsis
Charming bird designs were everywhere in the late 1800s and early 1900s. They graced linens, china, fabric, jewelry, greeting cards, feed sacks, and more, and inevitably found their way into embroidery kits and quilt patterns, too. From the front parlor, to the bedroom, to the kitchen, bird designs were indicative of the era. Susan McKelvey's much-loved collection of antique bird design items inspired the designs in 'Fancy Feathered Friends for Quilters.' We also stopped using tape a short while ago and all future flatware is now in plastic shrink film where we place the ID sticker.
