Detective show of yesteryears.
It starts off with saying that the picture might not be good for the age of when these were made for our modern TV sets. I have a 4K 65" TV and the picture is great! I like these because I can watch them with my children that the youngest of four is 50 years old and my grandchildren without worry about the more modern themes that are on TV shows today. Plus, the writers back then had to have talent because of their season where at least 14 programs where today you are lucky to get four in a season. They had to depend on a good a story line rather than making a social point of view on sex or whatever is the thing they are pushing and in some cases, you feel pushing down our throat; with a poor and weak and often overdone storyline to support an agenda. The grandchildren love seeing now people lived without cell phones and the large cars that you could see how different they all looked. A real peek into how TV programs didn't have music playing while people are talking. Wall to Wall music had been used and you can hear them if you are my age. My husband remembers the series but in this time period, I didn't watch much TV. For me seeing them for the first time, I just love it.

Nostalgia. Nostalgia.
I grew up watching this and have fond memories watching this with my dad late at night. When the episode was over it was time to go to bed for school in the morning. Just hearing the Barnaby Jones theme makes me think of my dad R.I.P. This truly was a delightful crime/Private Eye show and the acting was always fantastic. My favorite episode is episode 2 season one with William Shatner but all the episodes were great. Anyone who was a fan of this show should own this DVD set. Worth every penny.

Super value and quality show...
Great classic show. Enjoy all the stars from the old detective series. Nice large box case with discs in protective sleeves. Easy to get out and find quickly without going through seperate cases for 8 seasons worth of watching... Great value. Great quality picture and sound... Great choice!

Character change for BUDDY EBSEN!
I like BUDDY EBSEN in this role as a detective as compared to his other role as JED CLAMPETT. A few more actors in this series as well. LEE MERIWETHER adds an interesting perspective to BARNABY's work. Also, the addition of MARK SHERA as his nephew and junior assistant. Will have to binge watch this series before summer arrives. Glad I have it on a more permanent format. Thanks for offering this classic series on DVD. Will be looking for more TV on DVD.

GREAT ADDITION to ANY ARMCHAIR DETECTIVE home
Buddy Ebsen does well with this character thru the series. Showing the ability to carry a series in a entire different light of what many know him by. Images are clear in this DVD collection, the addition of the case enclosure is nice to keep all your collection together and safe. Must buy for the armchair detective.

Great Detective Show in my Top 10 of All-Time Tv Shows!
Grew up on Barnaby Jones it comes on cable Me-TV but you know how the cable networks jump around episodes and seasons so having the whole Complete DVD Series & Seasons Collection you can actually watch every season and episode thru and thru.

All classic episodes, decent picture quality
I have not seen these episodes in over 40 years so this brings back memories. There are a few blips in the picture or sound now and then but all in all it's decent quality. The only disappointment is that the episodes have obviously been edited for length. Many of the scenes that would happen before commercial breaks in the original episodes are unnaturally and abruptly faded out and that's not the way they were originally aired. The only reason I can see for doing this is to be able to fit more episodes on each disc.

Great Series DVD
I love Buddy Ebsen playing Barnaby Jones. He plays a character who you can really like because he seems to care about the persons who he works for on cases and feels like he is not in it just for the money. He seems to just care about his family also. He is just somebody you can relate to as an actor who plays Barnaby Jones. Great Show, Great storylines, Great actor!!!

Good detective show
The show is a good example of the 80's detective genre. The shows are visually crisp and clear, sound quality is great, and the format fits the large screen TV,s.

Very good detective series
Good show, good quality and reasonable price. Very good cast and the storyline was very good. When Mark Shira joined the cast, made the series better, more believable.
