    Problem solver

    This DT Swiss 10 x 135 thru-bolt has solved a problem I haven't had yet. Let me explain. I own an Origin8 CX700 monster cross bike that I've set up with Avid BB7 disc brakes with the rear brake mounted to the seat stay. The bike has horizontal drop outs so to remove the rear wheel in case of a flat means unbolting the brake caliper to pivot it out of the way and completely removing the QR skewer in order to slide the wheel to the rear and out. A PITA with the possibility of losing a brake bolt or QR spring in the middle of nowhere. Converting to the thru-bolt allows me to drop the wheel down instead of rearward to remove it so no need to remove brake bolts. And, yes, the thru-bolt must be removed but less chance of losing that than a small bolt or spring. Plus there is no need to realign ...

    hubs

    it is dt swiss. the first name in hubs, rims, spokes, nipples. everyone else is only just as good and more expensive. DT swiss has the best hub driver in the business. there is nothing better.

    Good but surprising that we are going back

    The product is strong and should perform. But it's interesting that once upon a time quick releases were consider safer because you did not turn a lever, but instead compressed the mechanism. Now we are back to turning a screw, like wingnuts from the 50s.

    Much better than the original

    which I broke on my Dirty Disco. Simple and elegant design while heavy duty the same time. Love the locking mechanism in any position. Good looking. Easy adjust/tighten.

    Beats Shimano both hands down.

    Worked where Shimano's 10mm thru axle wouldnt. Kept my wheel in the drop outs, so can't complain. Cheaper than Shimano's $115.00 thru axle, and with the DT, you don't need a wrench.
