The result can be maximum control and ease of use with plenty of ways to express your creativity.The stand out feature on the Kodak Easyshare DEX6490 camera is its 10X Optical Zoom Lens with 3x digital zoom. This expertly crafted lens, equal to 38-380mm, can produce incredibly sharp, bright, and clear images, even in low lighting. This powerful zoom function also allows you to take detailed shots of faraway scenes. The Kodak DX6490 comes with an aperture range of f/2.8 to f/8, which allows for maximum light control. Shutter speeds range from 1/1500 to 16 seconds for maximum control over photographing moving objects. In Program mode, the DX6490 sets the most ideal shutter speed and aperture combination. A customized mode lets you set the speeds for these cameras.A large, high resolution LCD makes it easy to accurately view subjects and scenes in both sunny and dark conditions, and it includes an auto rotation mode that lets you adjust the orientation of an image. The DX6490 electric viewfinder system (EVF) can help you with both frame and focus. The DX6490 also comes with the Kodak color science image processing chip. The company has used its 75 years of experience manufacturing cameras and camera accessories to create this technology, which optimizes both color and brightness. This state of the art science uses an automatic fill flash to accurately depict back lit scenes. If you are having trouble creating the exact effect you want in your photo, Kodak can have you covered here as well. This camera comes with multiple scene modes, including night, sport, landscape, and portrait mode. Manual dial controls are designed to satisfy creative freedom and include exposure compensation in +/- 2, in 0.3 increments, ISO equivalents of 80-800, and exposure metering. This Kodak camera with a powerful zoom lens also comes with a convenient hand grip that makes holding it a comfortable experience, even when shooting with one hand. Photos can be shared instantly from these cameras with the EasyShare button.     Great camera

    I have had this camera for about 20 years , It is a great camera the only thing that went wrong with my old one was the flash flip spring. The rest of the camera is still in good shape and takes great pictures.

    This is a versatile little camera for use by novice and pro alike. It's small, light. Can fit in your pocket. 10X optical zoom makes it easy to frame your picture. Also has a built-in flash. The camera you have is the one that gets the picture, and this one is easy to have with you.

    Great all-purpose family camera

    I purchased this exact camera new over 10 years ago. It finally failed but only after over 4000 pics were taken. I bought another one just like it and it's just as good as the first. I love the small file size and it's ability to provide sharp 11 x 14 in. prints. If you can find one in good condition, buy it! A very versatile camera!

    Best Beginner for those wishing to be a Professional Photographer

    For those wishing to be a Professional Photographer, here is a good "starter" digital camera with versatility. SLR style with option to use a viewfinder or the 2.2" display on the rear of the body. Many ways to use lighting and aperture settings to craft a scene. The single MODE dial is sometimes tricky to rotate but it is turned once to video, aperture, shutter speed control for the series of shots, then it can be turned to automatic mode for beginners and those learning. A thumb zoom and index finger shutter button are both on the right hand side and are easily manipulated while hold the right hand grip. I've had mine for over 5 years and never had a problem. Inexpensive add-on would be a battery charger and slave flash that can easily be attached to a light bar with thumb screw to ...
