Product Information

As one of the most famous of all American crime series and a cult classic, CRIME STORY (1986-88) was the brainchild of MIAMI VICE creator Michael Mann. Set in 1963, episodes followed Lieutenant Mike Torello (GET SHORTY) of Chicago's Police Major Crime Unit, during his ongoing pursuit of slick and elusive mobster Ray Luca (Anthony Denison). As Luca's power grew exponentially - boosting him from the gritty streets of Chicago to the casinos of Las Vegas - Torello's drive to catch him only became more obsessive. Guest stars included Ving Rhames, Lorraine Bracco, Kevin Spacey, Julia Roberts and Gary Sinise. This box set contains the two-hour pilot episode and each one of the program's two seasons, in full as they originally aired.

Video quality is absolutely horrible. Frankly it is unwatchable.
I was expecting at least be able to be able to watch this but the video is quality is honestly pathetic. It a shame really. The short series was quite good.

a classic that stayed with me
A lot of up-and-coming stars, who went on to great things, were featured in this show. I liked the characters and the time period this was set in. Would have been great if the show had lasted longer, but what we did get was entertaining while it lasted.

EASY TO FOLLOW STORY LINE
GOOD STORY LINE, ACTING NOT "HOKEY" LIKE SOME OLDER PROGRAMS. REALLY LIKE THE OLD CARS. HAVE NOT SEEN THIS SINCE IT WAS ON TV. YOU KNOW IT WILL BE GOOD,, ON THE SAME PLANE AS MIAMI VICE. MICHAEL MANN WINS IN MY BOOK.

Great Show
I loved this show when it was airing on TV, and I am happy to say it is as great as I remember. I just wished there was a season 3 since season 2 ended with a cliffhanger. If you like untouchables-like shows with great music and action packed story lines you will love this series.

Excellent
In my opinion, this was one of the best police shows on TV. It was well written and the actors were convincing. Instead of independent weekly plots, it utilized the same technique as Hill Street Blues where the central plot continued from week to week. I never understood why it was cancelled after just two seasons.

this dvd has great video and audio quality. its good entertainment for any one who likes las vegas or likes 1960's era stories and cars.

The Best Crime Drama You've Never Seen !!!
.This show was great !!! Should have gone on for 6-7 seasons not just 2. I can only think that the acting, scripts and production was 12 to 14 years ahead of its time. The classic cars were just more frosting on the cake.

A Series Worth Owning
I enjoyed my purchase from disc to the last. My memories of the series did not do it justice. Cops and robbers at its best. Worth every penny. Everyone should add this to their dvd collection.

blast from the past
I bought this series because I remembered it from the 80's. My wife and I never missed an episode. Now I can watch it again and it's just as interesting as I remembered. If you like a good show. Then by all means, buy this one. You won't regret it.
