Fulci's Masterpiece
I might be in the minority in saying, "New York Ripper" is Fulci's masterpiece, and not "The Beyond." This sick, twisted & gorgeous movie might in fact be the KING of ALL Exploitation/Grindhouse Cinema. It has aged incredibly well, and is in fact, more shocking today than it was in the 70's. They truly don't make films like THIS anymore, and if someone tried, they might find themselves in court. Thank you so much Blue Underground, for making sure these historic cinematic landmarks survive, if only as a reminder of just how much freedom we had back in the day; freedom of speech & artistic expression was a beautiful thing, and it's also a thing of the past. Nice, sharp transfer with saturated color and powerful audio, still retaining that beautiful bit of grain, that serves as a reminder that you are watching something vintage.
