Lovely book about an amazing family.
Really lovely book, with some beautiful photos taken mainly by the author, and some nice recipes. Thy are a lovely family, grounded and down to earth, the perfect way to bring up your children. I hope that we see a lot more of them as they grow and spread their wings. Amanda's words create pictures. A great read.
I particularly like the way Amanda Owen talks about the care and needs of their flock of sheep, and other animals.in a simple straightforward way. For me, the way she writes, her words and descriptions, create pictures of the individual family members. Their interaction and way of life on the farm. Raising a 'flock' of children in this situation. How the children grow, develop and cope, as individuals. Interesting, amusing at times and a great insight into rural farming life. An endearing book of an amazing life style
Amanda Owen describes a year in her life on the North Yorkshire farm. There is a great selection of photos of the children doing family activities. There is the wonderful charm of the TV series.
