LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR takes a lighthearted look at the problem of colour through the eyes of a white couple, Eddie and Joan Booth, and a black couple, Bill and Barbie Reynolds, who move in next door. This series helps to take some of the heat out of race relations by showing the funny side of everyday conflict. In this 2nd series Eddies prejudice towards his neighbours has not lessened so that when Bill and Barbie have a housewarming party, he does his best to sabotage it. The rivalry reaches boiling point when Eddie and Bill are both trying to buy the same bedroom suite in the sale. But the neighbours do find common ground when they attend a trade union conference together and are staying in the same hotel as two attractive young ladies.
