I bought this book after being a collector of vintage purses and vintage compacts for years. This book deals with vintage and antique purses that include compacts as part of there makeup. The book is fascinating and very informative. It includes photographs, print ads, as well as patent drawings of the items. It groups together items by manufacturer (such as Whiting &Davis) style (such as flapper style with compact top) and also type (such as chatelaines) They also give price value suggestions and how common a piece is. The prices listed should only be very loosely used as a guide, as the market is always changing.
