Oxford Diecast 76MA001 1/76 Scale Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Ambulance Welsh Ambulance Service OO Scale Compatible Model
Oxford Diecast discontinued 76MA001 in 1/76 Scale during 2019. This represents a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Ambulance in Welsh Ambulance Service colours with the Ambi-Box design of body as opposed to being the 'rigid' design which is not used in the UK. This is a fullt OO Scale compatible model which has been aimed at the Adult / Discerning Collector or OO Gauge Model Railway Enthusiast markets. The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter has served the NHS Ambulance Services throughout the UK in plentiful numbers for a number of years now and their venerable service is beginning to come to a close with fleets of Peugeot and Fiat vehicles slowly replacing them. However this model would make a very interesting talking point if you can get hold of one if seen in a collection or on a railway layout. Additionally these can be easily customised to feature watch-battery powered working lights too because of the space available within the Ambi-Box and many collectors / railway modellers have successfully had this 'mod' applied. Making for an even bigger talking point if seen in either a collection or on a railway layout! Conversion kits or options are frequently offered by individuals or companies which manufacture or offer such things. But even without working lights this model is one I would highly recommend along with it's sister-models 76MA002 [London Ambulance Service Sprinter - still available] and 76MA006 [East Midlands Ambulance Service Sprinter - discontinued too now.] As mentioned the non-Ambi Box fitted 'rigid' Sprinter ambulance is not used in the UK so all of these are the same design as this model. So ... These models all receive a 10 / 10 FULL MARKS coming from this market leading manufacturer but I'm afraid I'm going to have to wish everyone some luck finding 76MA001 and even more luck finding 76MA006 now :o)

Bought for grandson to enhance airport layout, so do not know if durable or entertaining, it just looks good on the mat! Pleased with purchase.
