Turrican is a nostalgic trip back to the origins of sidescrolling jump and shoot action.
Originally released in 1990 Turrican is celebrating its30th Anniversary.
They are finally here together all the original games in one place.
It made an impression on me at the time and this is the perfect way to re-live it.
If you think this is like Metrioid you would be wrong it is an action focused game
comprising of labarinth levels as you make your way through you will find and
collect various power-up and alternate weapons at your disposal.
The focus is mainly on action and these games were tough in their day but now
with rewind you can make it through much easier perhaps too easy.
The controlls are good all round and do work well the special beam is not using
more modern controls through the second analogue stick but instead rely on
holding ZL then rotating the left stick, not a deal breaker but would have been nice.
The music throughout all games is by Chris Hylsbeck and is a perfect choice of
fast paced electronic beats getting the blood pumping into the battlefield.
If you are into these types of game you will not be disapointed with Turrican.
