    unmitigated disaster, long and dull

    Not a fan of Director Anderson's work (after viewing Rushmore and this film)...the only redeeming quality of this film is the all-star cast. Given the great talent available with which to work a great comedy, Anderson fails to make use of his cast by insisting they strictly follow his written script which was a disjointed, disengaging absolute disaster.

    The Royal Tenenbaums: my thoughts

    My impression of this film is, a father that doesn't give a crap about what he says and how it hurts and affects the family. He takes people for granted and acts like he can't understand why people and family get mad at him and want him to leave. After years of being separated from wife and family something wakes him up and he starts wanting to get back in their lives. He starts to become a caring and loving dad and father to his kids and grand kids. Movie has a good ending and the actresses and actors where great. I myself did not like some of the writing, the story was kind of boring. I did watch the whole movie, but you need to watch it for yourself. P.S. I didn't find it to have any humor.

    Masterpiece of a Movie

    One of the best movies period. Contains deep-thinking comedy, and is the epitome of the “Wes Anderson-style”. Characters are brilliant in their roles.

    Interesting comedy with great cast at a real bargain!

    This is a strange story about a strange family that I find to be quirky, funny and entertaining. The cast is amazing! It is very thought provoking as well. It is a great addition to my DVD collection!

    Una familia disfuncional unida

    Película de Wes Anderson, uno de mis mejores directores de cine. La peculiaridad con que se cuenta la historia de una familia disfuncional pero que a la misma vez en unida, no tiene comparación. Por un lado, vemos al padre que como muchos, son el lado divertido, el despreocupado y en algunas ocaciones irresponsable, que toma la vida como un juego. Por el otro lado, vemos a la madre, una disciplinada, que busca educar a sus hijos con responsabilidad y velando que nada les falte. El resultado: hijos con miedos e inseguridades, que no saben como afrontar los fracasos y los giros que da la vida. Al final, la lápida del padre indica la verdad figurada de los Royal Tenenbaums. Altamente recomendada.
