good for beginners
This is my first activity tracker. I wanted to make sure I would use it. The app is easy and there are several features. For the price, it is great. If you are wanting to use it to track heart rate during activity, this is probably not the tracker for you. This only takes "resting" heart rate. I'm not sure how accurate the sleep monitoring feature is. I've started manually starting the "sleep" vs letting it determine when it thinks I have gone to sleep. Tracking food is fairly easy. However, the scanner does not always work and the data base for food/nutrition info is not as expansive as other food tracking apps I have used. Same for the activity log. They have some good choices, but if your activity is not one of the pre-programmed activities, your out of luck. It also does not ... This is my first activity tracker. My biggest complaint is the clasp. I find it slides too easily along the band with daily activity and loosens the fit. It also comes unclasped fairly easily. I have to really pay attention so I don't lose it at times. It does vibrate when you have hit your target steps, but for any other feedback you have to open the app on your phone. I do like the narrow, lightweight design. Easy to clean.

long battery life and easy to use
I purchased the up3 to use when my battery ran out on my apple watch. Mostly i use the UP3 for sleep tracking, but sometimes i use it for activity tracking. it comes in handy to have an alternative. i charged the UP3 when i received it and have had to charge it every 5 days or so. The app tells you when the battery is getting low, so that is when i put it on the charger. a few hours later it is ready for almost a week. i use the smart alarm feature to wake me up at a good time close to the time i pick for the alarm. It automatically detects the type of activity that one is engaged in so that makes it easy also. The app makes suggestions how to change behavior to achieve goals.I purchased the up3 to use when my battery ran out on my apple watch. Attractive Sleep & Activity Tracker
This is an attractive activity and sleep tracker. It keeps track of deep sleep, REM sleep, and light sleep. Included in the light sleep data is any period when you are lying quiet and still, even if you are not asleep, so the light sleep number you get may not really be all sleep. The activity part keeps track of steps, calories, distance, active burn, and resting burn. I like this tracker for the information it gives and because it is not bulky and ugly. I have a little concern about the clasp. This is my second UP3 tracker, because I recently lost my first one. It came off 3 times and I realized it and put it back on my wrist. But the last time it came off, I did not realize it, and I have no idea where it came off. I had the other tracker for 6 months or so before the clasp ... Also, it asks for the effort level of the workout, and I cannot get it to change from easy to moderate. It always list easy, even when I have a more difficult workout.

Stick with Fitbit HR
Hi, I have used the fibtit one, fitbit charge and the misfit shine. They all have wonderful qualities that would be wonderful if you could combine them together! With that being said I am switching to the fitbit charge hr which tops all the previous mentioned. The problem with the jawbone UP3 is that it is NOT very accurate with your step count! You can't set your stride length like you can on other fitness trackers. If you use my fitness pal, the UP3 app does NOT work as well as the fitbit app connected together. And your sleep tracking! I have been awake for an hour or more, even going to the bathroom and it recorded me for light sleep! Not to mention it takes an act of congress to charge the UP3,very awkward. Cons: Battery time on full charge 3 days (promised 7-10) Heart-rate only over time ( every 25 min or so) and measure your heart rate even when not wearing the band, seems pretty inaccurate. App does tries to up-load events, when shut down & bluetooth turned off = Battery of cellphone drained by crappy app. Sleep tracking seems random, even when i wake during the night and shake the band, to make sure it measures that i was awake it doesn't register, and says i'm sound asleep at that point. Smart alarm, just pick a time close to alarm set time. Often been awake for 15-20 min before it goes off. Pros: Haven't had any trouble of it falling off and free complementary safety plastic clip from company. Nice design, seems sleek and with a couple of other accessories like watch or armbands you ...
