I liked the single pole mount style. It works well for cross bars with a bend in them, so you are not trying to mount something over a bend. They are well made, the main pole is aluminum and the top and bottom of the mount are some type of composite. The bracket for the bottom of the mount is metal. The foam pads are pretty good and fit well. As they are foam, I expect them to wear out after a while. The straps are all cam style and not ratchet. They do seem to be pretty secure though and aren't real cheap feeling like some I have used. (For reference I have 2-1/2" oval type cross bars and the mounts attach fine to them.) I like how the straps go around the pole and tie back to the cross bar. I feel it is more secure than many of the J-style racks. Even if something happened and one of ... I only went a few miles with them and not much over 40mph, I didn't use the front and back ropes for 10' boats. If I was going a long distance I would though. They can take a little time to figure out how to get the kayaks up on the rack quickly and easily. It took me one of the load/ unload times to figure out better ways to do it all. I can load and unload by myself, if it is not to windy. (I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and I am 5'8", but my boats aren't real heavy, 38lbs)

Well made and easy to use.
Easy to use, works like a champ! The clamp works on round, square or aero profile crossbars. The foam blocks nicely pad the kayak hull and the fore & aft lines really secure the kayaks. As a bonus, the masts fold down to eliminate wind noise when not in use.

Great value
The Stax Pro 2 is just what I needed. For the price, it is probably the best way way to transport two kayaks on a factory roof rack. It is made really well and is very sturdy. The description doesn't specify this, but the clearance between bolts is 3¼", so they fit a pretty wide cross-bar. I recommend this product.

Great kayak hauler system for the roof top.
Lightweight but strong aluminum uprights and good bolting hardware. Comes with the cross rail padding and straps as well. Highly recommend Malone for your storage and hauling needs.

Very Nice Product
Wow! Wasn't sure at first until we tried it. Its actually easier to load than the J bar Style. We have a small compact car and we find that there is more room on the roof when storing the kayaks on the sides. This product is sturdy and it doesn't move around. I thought the weak point was going to be the straps but I actually love these over the ratchet style because they are on piece making it faster the cinch down and they hold well. On our tip we never exceeded 55 MPH. At that speed they were great, can not speak past that yetWow! Wasn't sure at first until we tried it. Its actually easier to load than the J bar Style.
