    Mounting piece could be a little heavier weight

    Love the big easy to read style, recently got a quarter inch and it measured true, reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the mounting platform seems a little light weight. I can see myself bumping into it at some point and breaking it. I take the rain holder indoors when rain is not in the forecast. Pretty pleased and would recommend it especially if you can mount it in a low traffic area.

    A Very Good Rain Gauge

    This is our second of this type. It is a little more difficult to freeze and break, IMOH due to its physical size; we had the first one for 3 years. It is easy to see across the deck from inside the house.

    BIG

    I have always thought of LACROSSE products as of being high quality. I like the size and where we installed this rain gage to be able to see the amount of rain we received and how you can take the rain gage out of its holder and cleaned and stored when not needed. The hot sun and cold weather makes other rain gauges fog up and crack and make them unusable. I expect to get years of use out of this rain gage.

    waterfall rain gauge

    Unusual design. High readability - even from a distance. Be sure to mount it securely with the reservoir flush withjj your mounting surface so emptying will not be a problem. I used brass screws to mount it instead of the plated ones furnished to defer the rust thing. Hope this holds up in direct sunlight as plastic is sometimes susceptable to UV damage. My present rain gauge fadedout.

    The Perfect Rain Gauge!

    After much researching this was the pick. We just love it. Sturdy plastic, very readable, floating red plastic line is such a plus, and my husband loves it, can't get any better than that. He attached to the long plants / serving bench on the patio, we just look out from the inside porch to know the status. Recommend to anyone looking for a home rain gauge. Works Perfect for US!!!!
