The best european birdguide for experienced birdwatchers
After having several Bird Guide handbooks, even from some of the authors of this one, I purchased it. And I´m not deceived, it really is the masterpiece of this class, even if it isn't the last edition. The details, the information on subspecies, visitants...it really is the summit and the best one you can have. Nevertheless, I find it unadequate for starters, since the information is far too much to enable an easy and efficient use of the book. Granddaughter’s delight.
My wife has had this book for several years and references it constantly. When one of our granddaughters visited us a few weeks back she was always asking to see granny’s black book. It took a while but we sussed it out. Our granddaughter was looking up this book a lot during her stay. Questions galore. She was so enthusiastic with this book that I decided to get one for her.
