Vivid colors, crystal clear, excellent 3D on this one! (LG OLED65E6P) Fun, crazy story and characters that I'll leave for others to review, but the 3D is great!
Cannonballs, battling "airships," swords and some breathtaking locations, including the rooftop of Notre Dame cathedral, make for lots of wow moments. The colors are hypersaturated, so the 3D really pops.
The story itself is fun popcorn fare, which I thoroughly enjoyed too. But the star is all of the amazing locations, shot in real dual-camera 3D by director Anderson, who knows what he's doing. He has perfected his 3D skills with wife Milla Jovovich by directing hundreds (ha - actually 4 of the 6) Resident Evil movies and lots of other 3Ds.
Jovovich appears in this one too, at one point ripping off her huge period costume dress and bustle to reveal this crazy French Renaissance kick-ass spy suit, complete with shoulder amulets hiding cable spools for rappelling off the roof of the palace. Sorry Mr. Dumas, but this version is way more fun!
And talk about palaces ... long, opulent hallways with gilded artwork in over-the-top neon colors make for some eye-popping visuals. Totally enjoyed this 3D feast from start to finish. Five big 3D stars!
I"m not a "REVIEWER". I liked the movie, and the 3D is good. Thinking back on the older Three Musketeers movies I've seen; I'd watch this one again and pass on the others.
