Snap-On PF-70-M ratchet
My particular PF-70-M was made in 1957. For it's age it's in remarkably nice condition all around. The "P" in the model number refers to the pin detent, which also coincides to the Industrial Line of Snap-On's tools. The two main features which distinguishes these particular ratchets from all the other Snap-On ratchets is the industrial black oxide coating and the locking pin detent on the anvil. The pin detent differs from the standard ball bearing detent, where the pin actually locks to the driver attachment, and is only removable if it's pushed back down through the hole on the socket or extension. The tooth count is 20 with a one tooth per side engagement pawl, and cannot be upgraded any higher, as the gear & pawl cradle bores are smaller. And even though there is not a repair kit for these particular ratchets listed (because of the pin detent anvil), the current kit which would fit this rat is RKRA380, which would replace the pin detent anvil/gear to a standard ball bearing anvil/gear. This is a classic Snap-On 20 tooth ratchet, made in the USA.👍
