Product Information
"Sleeping Beauty" is based on a fairy tale written by Charles Perrault. The primary character of the film is Aurora, also called Briar Rose, who is Sleeping Beauty. On her sixteenth birthday, Aurora falls asleep due to a witch's curse and can only be awakened by her true love, Prince Philip. Before Phillip can rescue her, he must defeat the evil witch, Maleficent. "Sleeping Beauty" covers the events as Prince Phillip battles the evil witch in his attempts to awaken and rescue Sleeping Beauty. This two-disc set includes the original movie that was released in 1959. The fairy tale has been remastered to DVD quality standards on this two-disc set. "Sleeping Beauty" is formatted as a box set that is presented in full color with widescreen and full screen options. The DVD set is closed-captioned and meets NTSC standards. The animated movie is presented with multiple audio options including English and Spanish (Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo). Bonus features include "Once Upon a Dream: The Making of Sleeping Beauty", "The Music: Singer Mary Costa Reminisces About the Film", and "The Restoration" among other content. The DVD program is rated G, has a run time of 75 minutes, and is released to video by Walt Disney Video.
