    Fiddler on the Roof DVD

    One if my favorite musicals and it is very hard getting a copy from the library. I introduced my 6 yr old to the musical last year a she also fell in love. By chance her school is doing this as their rock opera this year and watching it is helping her remember her parts and how to act them. So grateful to find is at sucha great price. I hate giving my money to Amazon and refuse to use them.

    These are the knids of Movies Hollywood should be making!

    This is a classic movie, one for the desert island. The performances are great, I believe that it earned many academy awards! We had it on vhs, and it was a long time coming to finally get it on DVD. As good as I remember. The story of Russian Jews at the time of the Czars and their experiences of being driven out of their homeland. This would be about the late 1800's to the very early 20th century. It's one families' story, but it was a reality for many, minus the singing and the dancing of course! I love movies with historic background. Zero Mostell is excellent, as is the entire cast!

    Fiddler on the Roof is one of the BEST Musical ever made!!

    We love "old" musicals the best and this dvd is amazing and makes you sing along. Nominated* for eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, and featuring such classic songs as "If I Were A Rich Man," "Matchmaker" and "Sunrise, Sunset," Fiddler on the Roof is a universal story of hope, love and acceptancea "stunning, joyful and jubilant" could not have chosen a better cast of actors: Chaim Topol, Norma Crane, Leonard Frey, Molly Picon, Paul Mann

    Classic Wonderful Film

    Classic film, with talented characters. Very true to the Hebrew culture. Beautiful music. Humor and pathos throughout. A film to enjoy over and over.

    Be Prepared to Sing...and Sing Loudly!

    I have always loved this musical. It's an old familiar friend to me, a part of my Bulgarian Jewish heartbeat. The quality and restoration work is superb, and the special features add to the experience. Grab tissues. The special feature showing pictures of their families and loved ones that prisoners brought to the concentration camps with them will make your heart ache.
