The black Canon camera body is a fast device for those looking to take quick high quality images. The Canon EOS Mark II 1Ds can snap up to four pictures per second to deliver many shots fast. Images on the 16.7 MP digital SLR camera can be printed directly off the camera using Direct Print technology. The date and time can also be placed on each image for better organisation. It also has the feature of setting up different folders for keeping images in a specified spot. The white balance mode on the Canon camera body enables the user to customise the setting for producing better images in any setting. The self-timer on the Canon EOS Mark II 1Ds features both a 10 second and two second delay for more preparation time. The 16.7 MP camera also gives the user the option to record sound and quick videos that makes the camera more versatile. Great value ,built like a tank accurate focus and very familiar to anyone who had used an EOS before. Wanted one for years it doesn’t disappoint. A credit to its previous owner, still looks like new. Only gripe is some of the technology is now outdated , finally found a use for that old xp laptop. ISO is limited compared to a more modern version. ...the price compared to Initial RRP is incredible for what you do get. But SD card is still well supported and grabbing photos to your iOS mobile is easy with a cheap lightning SD card adaptor, even in Raw , which surprised me. For me I prefer the heavy body compared to a lightweight plastic body, I find there is less camera shake. If you are undecided , you can always sell again as there is little depreciation from this price point. Love ❤️ ... Perfect combination of qualities for the money.
Well made, robust and easy to use. Only downside for some would be the weight and perhaps the smaller than modern screen. I don't find it a problem and for indoor wok it can be easily tethered to a computer with whata very large screen you like! Superb full frame shots - stunning quality for the money. This is my third dslr, the first two being the cropped sensor type. I was never happy with the shots for product work on my website with the fist two and had used a tiny compact instead. This was a last ditched attempt and it really has paid off. The right combination of megapixels and frame size for the web.Well made, robust and easy to use. Only downside for some would be the weight and perhaps the smaller than modern screen. Old Camera but still takes a very good picture with nice white balance.
I only gave a rate of 4 stars because the sensor is very dirty and i have got to have it clean for landscape pictures . Apart from that the camera is good.

This is a really great camera-i don't have many complaints. When you first hold the camera, you will notice the amazing build, the weight and quality of finish will astound you. It feels carved from a solid block of metal. Unlike the Canon Eos 1v which it was modeled from, and is plastic/grp covered metal, the Eos 1DS is metal covered by metal. The build in vertical grip means no loose joins to wobble when heavy lenses are attached, and All top plate, back& vert grip buttons are properly weather sealed, along with the battery compartment. This camera is full frame, so there are no issues with using your old 35mm Eos lenses with this camera, but you cannot use crop sensor lenses. If your used to other manufacturers camera's, the sheer sophistication of this camera might be initially ... This is a really great camera-i don't have many complaints. This camera is full frame, so there are no issues with using your old 35mm Eos lenses with this camera, but you cannot use crop sensor lenses. If your used to other manufacturers camera's, the sheer sophistication of this camera might be initially quite scary, but the basic control interface using two control dials front and back, doesn't take long to learn. I cannot list the full specification as it would fill a small book :-) but will run through the basics. All the usual exposure modes are there. Program Shutter Priority Aperture Priority Manual Along with Canon's own- B mode-for long exposures Depth mode-for maximum depth of field. Metering modes are well complimented with Multi Pattern Partial Spot, can be linked to the 45, yes 45 focus points :-) The auto focusing is very sophisticated and very fast(not as fast as the later variants of this camera), its easy to select individual focus points using the control dials, but accuracy is good even if you leave the camera to decide which focusing point to use, the only time i have had issues with 'wrong focus point selection' is when taking shots close-below 10 feet. There is though, a short cut button, next to the exposure lock button, which switches the camera to a pre-selected focus point of your choice(Memorized) and very quickly. Auto flash is multi zone E-TTL, not A-TTL, due to the age of the camera(2002), the flash results are generally very consistent, i find most accuracy is had using this camera with a Canon flash left in High Speed Sync mode, using the Flash-Exposure lock button with spot metering(to the left of the shutter release)to lock in the flash exposure, leaving the camera to sort out the ambient flash balance- i am very happy with the results. Flash can also be linked to the focus point in use. Hotshoe flash sync's up to 1/250 in normal, or up to 1/8000 in high speed mode. Studio flash syncs up to 1/125. Hotshoe Canon flash including the 430ex/430ex2/550ex/580ex/580ex2(weatherproofed)can all be used wirelessly or on a ttl flash sync lead(full ttl and high speed sync retained). In wireless mode, a 550ex/580ex/580ex2, must be used as a master on the camera hotshoe, with other wireless flash used as slaves-this is easy to set up. The Canon ST-E2 transmitter can also be used to control off camera flash, in place of a hotshoe mounted 'master'. This camera can be used tethered to a computer, and files can be sent wireless, using the relevant software. The sensor is 11.1 megapixel, the images when shot at the native iso of 200 or below are lovely, go to iso 400 or higher and you will see noise, at the high iso's-plenty of noise, so make sure your PP skills are up to scratch. The camera has 20 custom functions and 31 personal function. Apart from sensor noise at iso 400+, there are no problems TBH If you can find this camera for a good price, it makes a good investment.

Its a beast of a camera if you know how to use it
I bought this 1ds mark ii as a backup for my wedding and event photography without spending a few thousand more for another new full frame camera. I have been using it for the last 2 weeks daily for work and I must say I love this camera!!! It has character to it and still produces images that are far superior to any crop sensor camera I have used ! :D It does have so many advantages and also its disadvantages . I already knew the iso performance isnt the best in low light which I accepted and don't mind. The biggest annoyance about the camera is the menu system. You need to press 2 buttons to change some settings which is really really annoying. other then that I love this beast of a camera and have used it for landscape and wedding work this week.
