    A tense thriller.

    It is an excellent production . Based on truth . A father (Priest) took great risks to save people. Under the evil oppression of the Nazi regime. He was only FREE to operate within Vatican City . But ventured in various guises to save those persecuted . An altogether excellent production . I remember it well when it was on the TV in the 80s. Few productions reach this quality . Jesus of Nazereth and Masada to name but two of similar engaging quality.

    gripping sometimes amusing but also sad

    This wonderful second world war film brings to the fore the kindness of human kind to each other despite being on opposite sides of the conflict. Gregory Peck is superb ,as is Christopher Plummer who both want an end to the destruction and death in Italy during the second world war. This was one of my Father's favourite films of all times and having watched it now in adulthood, I can fully understand why. A great film for all ages,

    Worthy of watching

    Great film.

    This is an excellent film with a great cast. It is also a true ww2 story and they are always the best. The dvd was also like new - brilliant.

    Always a good performance from Gregory Peck. I would recommend this film to anyone. Christopher Plummer's performance was also good. I like both actors so no disappointments for me. It's a very entertaining film
