Product Information

With the possible exceptions of Tetris and Qix, Space Invaders is the ideal title to adapt to the Game Boy. The simplicity of the gameplay and the short time it takes to play a full round are perfectly suited for on-the-go gaming and the limitations of the venerable handheld system. This port solidly reconstructs the 1978 coin-op classic on the tiny Game Boy screen and even lets players go at it head-to-head via cable linkup. However, the game doesn't truly shine until played via the Super Game Boy, which gives players an incredibly faithful arcade experience in terms of graphics, coloring, gameplay, sound effects and borders.

    I received this item not very long after the purchase. I would have liked more information in the seller's description such as the length of the item.     Camera came as described. Packaging was minimal, the box it was shipped in came damaged and the camera was in the case with just some packing paper loosely around it. Padding was not at the bottom of camera bag so I was worried it had gotten damaged in transit but seems to be ok. Seems to be a good value for the price.

    Space Invaders Classic Arcade Game on the Gameboy Classic

    Midway Games introduced us to Space Invaders back in 1978 in the arcades. The controls were simple and so was the objective. You control a laser cannon moving only from side to side and evading enemy fire from alien invaders. The invaders come from the top of the screen scrolling from side to side and slowing creeping down on you. Your only defense are stationary shields which you may use to hide temporarily until the enemy destroys them completely. Destroy the Space Invaders before they land on Earth. The world is depending on you! This is classic game like Pac-Man and it deserved to be in your classic Gameboy collection.

    A timeless classic with a bonus

    This is an excellent port of a timeless classic with a bonus for those with a Super Game Boy cartridge for the Super Nintendo. Pop it in the Super Game Boy and get four faithful representations of various iterations of the arcade classic on your TV. The gameplay may seem simplistic today, but it’s still surprisingly satisfying. I’m happy to have this version of Space Invaders in my collection.

    Cool Title

    In case you didn't know this is one of the Game Boy carts with hidden content that can only be unlocked with the Super Game Boy cart for the SNES. Basically the hidden content is the sane as what came on the SNES port of Space Invaders. The GB port on its own is really very good, and stands well against other ports.

    This is a hidden gem.

    Granted, it’s just Space Invaders but it’s designed to have extra features when used with a Super Gameboy on the SNES. The game contains 16-bit graphics this way and really makes this a cool little find!
