Product Information

Pride and Prejudice is a film that was first released in 1995 and is based on the classic novel by Jane Austen. The drama is a story about different social classes that existed during the early 1900s and tells how they kept people from respecting one another. The pride of the upper-class often kept them from being able to fully commit to a loving relationship. Pride and Prejudice closely follows the story of Elizabeth Bennett whose parents want nothing more than for her and her sisters to marry wealthy men. The girls each find men who are suitable to their personality, even finding men who are not so suitable in between, such as the arrogant Mr. Darcy. Pride and Prejudice was a mini-series that was released in five episodes on television. The drama was released as a two-disc set on DVD and stars Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. The two-disc set is available in widescreen and standard screen editions and is closed captioned for the hearing impaired.

    Visually beautiful, subtly exciting story of true love at last

    Beautifully produced and fairly accurate version of this beloved story of misunderstandings leading to true love. Only the BBC 1977 version is closer to the text with the perfect Lizzy but this one is delightfully entertaining, a true treasure just like Jane Austen herself. Not to be missed.

    A Must See

    By far the finest adaptation of the Jane Austen's novel. Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth were superb in the staring roles, the cinematography was excellent, it was a totally pleasant experience. It is a shame that A&E sold out and no longer produces this high quality of enterainment.

    Love the title!

    This version of P&P is the best by far, the characters are engaging and the story line is definitely one that keeps you guessing! I love the way Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy respond to each other, you just see the passion growing between them in their eyes!

    One of my all time favorites - I watch it often.

    I had originally bought the BBC version, from England & watched it on my computer. When I got my new DVD player, the BBC version would not play on it. This, however does, & it is a MUCH better version! There are no episode breaks after each episode, the color quality is better, & there are a few tweaks that are not on the BBC version. All in all a great buy!!

    Definitely!

    Great. On DVD so if that bothers you, you might want to see if there is a blu-ray or 4k version. But the series is very good. Well acted by all of the cast. Well directed also. The settings are well set. I mean the castles and scenery are very good. Clothing is realistic? Do not know how exactly they dressed in 1775. Recommended! Enjoy.
