Timeless Media's DVD set of the first half of season two of Laredo is a considerable improvement over the company's first season set. For starters, the opening credits are intact on all of the episodes. And the transfer anomalies that cropped up on the earlier volume are not present here. In fact, this set required no disclaimer about restoration or flaws in the source material, mostly because there aren't any that this reviewer could see. The color tones are rich and the image crisp, and the sound is also of very high quality, and set at a good, healthy volume as well (this reviewer had to lower the audio level on his monitor). Each disc opens to a menu that could be a little easier to use, in terms of individual episode selection, but is overall convenient and simple. And as to the guest stars, they're a rich array of players, ranging from the gorgeous Whitney Blake (playing a larcenous saloon girl) to Hollywood veteran Thomas Gomez, Lyle Talbot and Lane Chandler. ~ Bruce Eder, RoviProduct Identifiers
