As one of the seminal westerns of American television's 'Golden Age,' the series WAGON TRAIN (1957-65) bore an unusual premise and narrative set-up. The program dramatized events that befell a group of settlers during the post-U.S. Civil War years, as they journeyed from St. Joseph, Missouri to California via the titular mode of transport. Accordingly, each season would begin in St. Joe and end on the west coast, and aside from the wagonmasters, who remained constant from one season to the next, the supporting cast received an overhaul with every season. The show achieved distinction as one of the first televised dramas to place individual character studies (of members of the wagon train itself, and strangers whom they encountered as they journeyed across the country) ahead of plot. Also noteworthy was the program's never-ending line-up of guest stars. Season Three originally ran from September 1959 through late June of 1960 , and included 37 episodes, all of which appear in this collection. The season brings with it such guest stars as Bette Davis, Warren Oates, Ed Wynn and Peter Lorre; among the featured episodes are THE MAGGIE HAMILTON STORY, THE JONAS MURDOCK STORY, THE AMOS GIBBON STORY and TRIAL FOR MURDER parts one and two.Product Identifiers

Wagon Train-The Complete First Season (10 DVD Set)
I love it and am grateful to find one at this low price. I hope in April to be able to get Season four at a low price. Thank you for selling it. It started to stick because it was used.
