When shooting with a manual Leica film camera, resolution is very important as you don’t have the opportunity to take hundreds of shots (like digital camera users may be used to). The resolution of this lens allows you to confidently print enlargements of your photos. The Voigtlander Nokton 50 mm f/1.5 aspherical lens features f/1 to f/16 apertures with half-stop click stops. With shutter speeds this fast, you are able to shoot photos even without the perfect lighting conditions. The f/1.5 minimum aperture allows plenty of light to enter the lens, which provides an additional boost to the lighting in your photos. While the lens is capable of switching between f/1 to f/16, you receive the best results when shooting no wider than f/2 with a subject that is in the 3 to 8 range. The 50/1.1 is a good match for all Leica M-mount cameras but does not pair well with a shorter rangefinder base. Short rangefinder baselength cameras can’t focus 50mm lenses accurately and consistently. Pairing your Voigtlander Nokton 50 mm f/1.5 aspherical lens with the proper Leica M-mount camera ensures beautiful image quality every time you look through the viewfinder, even with the f-stop wide open.
