Retro Sci-Fi
Fun sci-fi series that weaves in a dose of period (late 60's/early 70's) pop culture while trying to imagine what the future (1980) might look like. The DVD's are satisfactory - and the set includes some additional content on each such as outtakes, photos and audio clips. I think if you were a kid at the time this series was originally released, you'd probably be the most likely to really enjoy the DVD set. I did enjoy watching all the episodes -- it was fun to see certain aspects of the 60'/70's woven into the series while still trying to reflect a time that was supposed to be a decade forward. The future is now!
The great thing about the series UFO is that it predicts the future. With numerous flaws, omissions, errors, and mistakes, the 1964 production shows us a time after the pantomime "Terrorist" & "Rouge Nation" threats have become old and worn out. A new and original "boogie-man" is needed to keep society in fear, and so, Earth is under threat from outer space! Nobody knows who they are or where they came from! (how convenient). Futuristic Blast From The Past!
Very entertaining TV series. I remember watching a few episodes as a child but couldn't really appreciate it at the time. As a little boy, I wanted to see more of the aliens, their home world and maybe a few monsters thrown in for kicks. Indeed, one might think that the show was intended for children. This might be true in terms of the futuristic looking machines and spaceships, many of which were later marketed as toys. In reality, however, several episodes are interestingly profound, and some scenes even a bit too graphic for younger eyes. I must say that I have acquired a new appreciation for Gerry Anderson's UFO. Nostalgic TV Show
UFO was a great series in the late 1960s. While the special effects are somewhat cheesy compared to today, the series was great entertainment. A great look at the future being envisioned in the 1960's
This is an amazingly entertaining series. Some of the plots are a bit thin and there are inconsistencies but if you want a fun ride with amazing model-based special effects this show can really entertain you. The Complete UFO Megaset on 8 DVD's.

UFO was a good TV show
