Every Mental Health Professional Should Watch This Film and Read the Book I Mention! OMG!
For anyone with an interest in multiple personalities, psychotherapy, and how psychiatrists have functioned over the past half century, this is a fascinating movie. What I would recommend is that you combine watching the film and the extra DVD features with reading the book "Exposing Sybil" which came out a bit more than a decade ago, and thus after this 30th anniversary release. I was gobsmacked--I could not have possibly imagined how this unfolded.

Not the best of showing Mental Disorders, but NEVER let your impressionable kids/teens watch alone.
I bought this movie because my daughter’s teacher showed it to the class without permission. I don’t think it’s the right thing for young impressionable teens, especially with everyone having a “Mental Disorder” due to Covid. The movie was fine for my age, but not young teens!

Happy to own this fantastic movie--Sally Field at her best!
The case to this dvd collection of two discs was a bit wonky. But the price was good and the first disc that I watched played and looked great!!! Looking forward to viewing the second disc.

Something to keep you wondering
Sybil is a classic. Most will purchase because they’ve seen before. Sally Fields is convincing as she portrays a young women dealing with multiple personalities. I’m horrible at rewriting reviews. I purchased the movie because it’s been years since I’ve seen it and wanted to see it again. It’s old school kind of cool…

Sybil---a person shattered into so many personalities.
I have always been fascinated about Sybil. Sally Fields plays an astonishing character and Dr. Wilbur tries her best to help Sybil. My movie is in great shape and played very well. I recommend it.

Movie plays in my normal DVD player well...
Movie plays in my normal DVD player well. It's an older, made-for+TV movie so I did not expect it to be HD definition and I'm just glad to have it on a DVD now. Thank you.

Sybil starring Sally Field
Awesome movie. Sally Field did a GREAT playing the part of Sybil. If anyone wants to see a great movie that Sally Field starred in they need to watch this movie.

Sally Field's performance is mind-blowing.
My daughters and I remembered the original airing of this story and have been hoping some channel would show reruns of the series - based on a true story. Sally Field's performance was so compelling and convincing that she had etched Sybil in our minds. I was delighted to find this DVD. My daughter and I watched the first three hours last weekend. This weekend, we'll continue.

It is a good documentary of the suffering. One goes through with mental health problems. And, there was once upon a time. When there was no treatment for the disease. Because no one knew what caused it. But science has come a far way. Of finding solutions to cure the sufferer(s).
