One Of The Best 80's Film You Never Saw
One of the best films of the eighties. Director William Friedman delivers one of the best cinematic offerings of his directorial career. William Petersen (Manhunter; C.S.I.) plays Richard Chance--a Secret Service agent hot on the trail of Eric Masters, a master counterfeiter played by Willem Dafoe, (Platoon; Spiderman; Motherless Brooklyn) who murdered Chance's partner. Released at a time when the highly-stylized Miami Vice was everywhere--this film very much holds its own; as it has aged ever-so well, nearly forty-years later. Also...contains one of the most memorable car chases ever captured on film.

Thrilling "in your face" feature. Keeps you on the edge of your seat. "To Live and Die in L.A." is definitely a timeless classic... right up there, for example, with the high standards of drama and conspiracy of "The Hunt for Red October" and "The French Connection". Incidentally, William Friedkin directed "To Live and Die in L.A." and "The French Connection". Willem Dafoe Props It Up

Cop Versus Conterfeiter!
This is an engaging movie with a nice plot and intense characters. I enjoyed it very much. It is a long battle between a savage counterfeiter and a cop whose partner ws killed by the counterfeiter two days before his retirement. Our hero will use any means to bring the villain to justice. A great package that reflects an even greater film.
The DVD plays very well in a Blu-ray player, in fact the quality in the audio-visual experience was heightened and upscaled to a certain degree. The supplemental features were quite scintillating as well. Classic Friedkin. Great layered story with great cast. L A. as rich a character as the players. The car chase rivals The French Connection's.

"Good Enough Film"
