CD: Music of Ernesto Lecuona Played by Enrique Chia/Pianist & Accompaniment
36 Music/songs written by gifted Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona and arranged/played by equally gifted Cuban pianist Enrique Chia & accompaniment on CD is well worth listening to - a Cuban & Spanish flavor, romantic, lively within a distinctive classical style. There is a booklet within the CD - English & Spanish or Cuban written lyrics & background of Lecuona & Chia included. Both Lecuona (passed away) & Chia are well-known in the musical world. Lecuona composed Andalucia (Breeze and I) and so many others; he wrote/composed many music/songs - some of which are on this CD. Gershwin lauded his Lecuona's ability as a pianist & composer - their talent equalled each other. In fact, Lecuona was composing an opera like Gershwin had done (Porgy & Bess), but he unfortunately died before he could finish it.
