Engaging version of Les Miserables
Loved this version of Les Miserables. The acting was wonderful and loved that it was recorded live. I love Anne Hathaway's voice and versions of the songs. Well worth watching just to see her performance. Hugh Jackman pulls a strong lead. Russell Crowe's voice was better than expected, just not as strong as the character needed. Loved Eddie Redmayne version of "Empty Tables, Empty Chairs"

For all who cannot see it live on stage
This rendition is very good, the acting is exceptional. Others have discredited the singing, but knowing it was recorded live as acted, not on a taped play-back, I feel it adds to the grit, humor and emotion of the scenes. Having seen Les Mis on the stage, I felt the story was well adapted, and any changes made were necessary for filming. The characters were rich and well portrayed. I enjoyed this movie very much, the music has always been a favorite of mine for over 30 years.

This DVD worked well for the first hour ...
This DVD worked well for the first hour of the film, however it would not play unless we removed the disc and skipped a good portion of the movie. After looking closer we saw that one edge of the disc looks to be burnt. We were able to watch most of the movie as long as we skipped sections.

Awesome story and picture.
This gripping movie will have you diverted to your hopes that the main actor gets justice. Compelling movie and good story line keeps you interested throughout the entire film and rewards you with a great ending.

Newest Les Miserables
I think the character acting in this latest version is the best - but the music in the first version is better. That said - I like the combination of the 2 DVD's to get the full impact of the experience.

loved Le Mis
I had recently seen a high school production of Le Miserables and loved it. We wanted to see the movie again and enjoyed watching it and listening to all the songs!

Amazing!
I own and watched the non-musical version starring Liam Neeson and was blown away. I recently purchased this musical rendition and found it equally incredible! This movie is a must see.

Such a great movie
I purchased it for my daughter. She was thrilled! The only reason I did not get one for myself was because there was only one available. Definitely worth the money.

Well played roles, well made scenes.
Great actors, great movie. Also, it's so realistic that you can't even tell it's just a movie. Of course that's with many movies.
