NotesJT Nero, wandering mystic, stumbling misfit, moping misanthrope, movable feaster, crooner, poet! Father played point guard for the Washington Generals, the team that traveled with the Harlem Globetrotters, in the 70's, losing every night while serving as their comic punching bags. Most of JT's beliefs about the absurdity of life and the inevitability of loss were formed in these years. Learned doo wop songs and spirituals from Meadowlark Lemon and Curly Neal, two of the most famous Globetrotters, on the back of the team bus, and still cites these two men as his biggest musical influences. Has developled into a fearsome singer and songwriter, known intergalactically for his work leading the eclectic soul outfit JT and the Clouds, and his constant touring and collaborating with Canadian roots bedazzlers, Po' Girl. Is set to release "mountains/forests" a delicious set of small tragic-comedies, recorded over two days in a north Wisconsin cabin with contributions from the Clouds, Po' Girl. It's a real singers record, centerpieced by JT's harmony work with Po' Girl's Allison Russell and Michelle McGrath, late of The Capital Sun Rays.
