Replace the thin snap ring with a 1" internal snap ring before use.
Great magnet filter. One must flush out the old fluid first in order to remove most of the metal particulates from break-in/wear 'n tear.
The internal snap ring is way too thin and it will pop open and possibly destroy a pump if not changed with a proper 1" internal standard snap ring. These are thicker and are measured from the inside of the snap ring. Therefore to make this easy on you, the outside diameter would be 1 1/6" and the inside 1" for the required snap ring that would make this a great product.
If you don't understand what I just relayed, DON'T USE. IT WILL FAIL WITH THE SNAP RING IT COMES WITH AND CAN DESTROY YOUR PUMP.
The filter was a little small for the surface area but it can be cleaned and reused over and over again. Has a built-in magnet and is great for trying to pick up remnants of possible transmission failures or power steering pump failures. It works for what I need
