When Diddy Kong is recruited to help Timber the Tiger save his island from the villainous Wizpig, he jumps at the opportunity. His uncle Donkey Kong is always racing to save the day, and he wants a victory of his own. This simple goal ends up leading Diddy Kong on a sprawling adventure across Timber's island, which has been modified with racetracks guarded by Wizpig's evil henchmen. In "Diddy Kong Racing DS," you get your choice of transportation; fly a plane, race in a hovercraft, or compete in a go-kart race on a variety of exciting courses. Every vehicle has its own specific uses and advantages to be learned and applied in each game. Hovercrafts allow your racer to skim easily over water-based maps while planes let you soar in swooping paths around your opponents to secure the lead. Cars, of course, are also modes of transportation in the game, and you are able to choose the one that has the speed or other features you're looking for.Visit your course after your quest, and remember that your ultimate goal is to defeat the evil boss. In Adventure Mode, your choice of eight unique playable racers navigates across five chapters with their own specific themes and dangers. Each chapter in "Diddy Kong Racing" contains four racetracks, a battle stage that lets you go head-to-head with a single opponent, and a boss battle taking the form of a climactic race against one of Wizpig's evil allies.Choose your game and your course, then jump in and try to win the race. Each competition is different because the element of adventure is added in novel ways. Additionally, each race provides you with oil slicks and rockets as support as well as boosters to increase your speed. Other power-ups make you invincible or grant a magnet that pulls you to the nearest racer. When defeating your enemies to win the day, it's important that you develop your strategies with all of these weapons.The online multiplayer mode in "Diddy Kong Racing" adds a new angle to the game, letting you test your skills against racers from around the world. The enhanced visuals and updated frame rates make each relay a colorful, high-speed chase that never fails to impress and amaze.This version of "Diddy Kong Racing" features touchscreen controls and support for a microphone. You can also design your own track and share it with family and friends. If flying solo is more your thing, customize your characters by recording sound bites with the Nintendo DS microphone so that your voice becomes a part of the action. "Diddy Kong Racing DS" is suitable for children of all ages, featuring high-stakes adventures without violence or adult language. The charming, cheerful music is paired with cute characters whose voices chirp out through the microphone warmly. First released in 1997 for the Nintendo 64, this racing game remake was re-introduced in 2007. The Nintendo DS release introduces the Donkey Kong family to a new generation.

    I was initially skeptical that as described there would truly be 100 pieces in the package, but in fact, there were 101! Items arrived in packaging that was appropriate for the items. The item(s) value was as expected - i thought the shipping was a bit high - but not much control over shipping prices these days, and the package arrive very quickly.     I missed that there was a crack on the plastic where the blade is held. I complained about it and the seller pointed out that this crack was disclosed on the listing but they refunded me anyways. I reviewed the listing, and the crack was indeed disclosed, but I had somehow missed it. Greatly appreciated their willingness to accommodate me even though it was my mistake! Well packaged and exactly as described. Shipped quickly after ordering.

    A passable remake

    Many of the gameplay changes to make the game "easier" feel rather hamfisted and take much of the game's freedom from it. The addition of Dixie and Tiny to make up for the missing two characters due to copyright was a good idea, but the story wasn't. Evil Wizpig taking over an island? RACE HIM! Players were perfectly happy with the story of the adventure mode being vague, trying to make it make sense just makes it seem incredibly stupid instead of just vague. Also; Tiny Kong. If you're gonna include her with two other normally-proportioned monkeys, don't give her the proportions of a human. She looks weird. But at its core, it is still Diddy Kong Racing, and still a fun game to play. The inclusion of multiplayer without requiring multiple game cards is a nice touch.

    Diddy Kong Racing DS

    Diddy Kong Racing from the N64 returns for the Nintendo DS. The game plays the same on the DS as on the N64. There are some differences in the way the game starts. It's been a long time since I played on the N64 but, after playing for a while on my 3DS I got the hang of it again. The game that I won looks great. This game was well taken care of with the game case, manual and cart looking brand new. I highly recommend this game if you've previously played it on the N64 or if you're just looking for a new racing game to play.

    Exactly what my son wanted!

    My 6 year old son has had his original Diddy Kong Racing game for a long time. It was time to get a new one, so I did. He loves it! No more game crashes or anything! :)

    I’m a fan of Nintendo, so when it comes to didn’t Kong racing its no exception that I will love the game, just wish that Conker & Banjo were still in the game! Very nice graphics, the game looks brand new!
