Great stand and worth the investment…
Even if you’re doing just one engine, it’s worth the investment. Rotating the engine is easy and saves you time and the frustration of a motor rolling around on the bench. You could always sell it from a small loss that’s worth the time and frustration savings. The drain pan works great for catching fluids and dirt/debris and cleans up easily.
A couple of minor issues to be aware of.
- The indexing holes are a little sloppy, so there is some play (3/8” on mine). Not a big deal but it’s there.
- It would be nice to have some mounting tabs to mount it to the bench.
- If you’re working on older or small displacement engines, you’ll need to get a sleeve and smaller bolt for the rear. I used a nylon sleeve for inside the frame and three flange nuts to secure it to the frame, allow for offset rear case holes and one to secure the motor. The good news is that the front is an M8 rod so your set up there.
