An excellent alternative to load equalizer resistors
Changing over to four LEDs (1992 BMW R100R) resulted in a fast flash-rate. I had some load resistors lying around so tried at first two resistors (one per side), which didn't help. So, went with four (one per light). That did the trick but significantly complicated an otherwise simple wiring setup, and all the extra wiring joints meant many more points for potential failure. Plus, each resistor gets really hot and four of them get hard to hide on a minimalist naked bike.
The Custom Dynamics unit is really straightforward to install (like literally five minutes using the included) positaps, and could be hidden completely inside my frame's top-tube. Best of all, it produces no heat.
Quality-wise, the case is tough plastic and the electronics are completely sealed on the back side with poured epoxy. the wires are good quality and protrude through the epoxy. The only potential point of water-ingress appears to be a tiny slide-switch on one end. After choosing the best (of the two positions) for setting the flash-rate, I put a little piece of duct-tape over the switch, just to be sure no water or crud would get in there.
Very happy with the unit and can highly recommend if you have LED-related flash-rate problems and can't just use a modern non-load dependent flasher unit (the BMW's flasher unit also controls several other things, so can't easily be swapped out).
