General Rafael Trujillo (Edward James Olmos) is in the midst of his dictatorial grip over the people of the Dominican Republic. Great Story!
This is a fictionalized story about the atrocities of the Dominican dictator Trujillo, The movie was adapted from the respected Dominican poet and writer Julia Alvarez who does a great job of depicting the general conditions and persecution of anybody opposing this ruthless dictator. The story is interesting and kept my attention to the very sad ending. A great story!

It’s based on true events and characters, at the end of the film it informs you so. The movie was better then I expected and has become a new favorite.
