SynopsisThis volume is the first of its type to be devoted exclusively to the Zerstörer day fighter aces, spanning the war years from Poland to the defence of the Reich. Although Messerschmitt's single-engined Bf 109 has received most of the plaudits for achieving virtual air superiority over Europe in 1939-40, the exploits of the manufacturer's twin-engined Bf 110, the Ju 88 and the Me 410 Zerstörer in the first year of the war also make for very impressive reading. Indeed, on the eve of World War 2 a posting to a Bf 110 unit was considered to be the best career move available in the Luftwaffe., This volume is the first of its type to be devoted exclusively to the Zerst rer day fighter aces, spanning the war years from Poland to the defence of the Reich. • Excellent addition to the Osprey Aircraft of the Aces series!

These great books are a must have for all WW II aviation scholars and enthusiasts. This one features the Bf 110 of which this kind of detailed info about the subject aircraft and crews are not often found. The pics and color artwork is excellent. I am a huge fan of Lain Wyllie's cover art in the Osprey series as well!

  • Nice book but no list of BF-110 aces.

Has stories about the BF-110s shooting down Spitfires and having a BF-110 in action in North Africa against RAF night bombers. The only thing I don't like about it is that the author didn't have a list of BF-110 aces at the end of the book.
